COMMERCIAL SALES: Record Dollar Volume The current cycle of elevated commercial real estate sales activity on the South Coast has lasted more than five years and is unprecedented in both volume and duration. Total dollar value of sales reached new heights in 2017, buoyed by the $240+ million sale of the Bacara Resort. Even setting aside hotel sales, 2017 was among the top three years on record for commercial sales volume. Demand was persistent for most property types, as evidenced by the frequency of off-market transactions, which represented 44% of sales.
